Sunshine

This week we learned that paint swatches can be very deceiving things. Ella's room and bathroom turned out just as we had hoped, but as we moved through the house with the yellowish color we'd chosen we began to have painter's remorse. Ack! So we halted the painting process and tried out a whole bunch of swatches to see if we really wanted the color we thought we wanted, all the while leaving the yellow up in the portion of the house Dan painted.

And we learned something else in the process. Our instincts, in this case, were right (can't say that for the purple we chose for our bedroom. Yikes!). The yellow dramatically affected our mood for good and really brightened up our home. When the sunlight shines through the windows it's overwhelmingly striking. It is a very bold and bright yellow, but it somehow fits. I hope this isn't making light of sacred things or being overly trite, but the warmth and light that came into our home reminds me/us of our Savior--and that's something that I want to be bold and bright in my life. So it looks like the yellow is staying.

P.S. Yes, Dad, I'm going to check your mail on Tuesday. Promise! Sorry; I've been a slacker.

Christy, what a wonderful blog and terrific photos! We love seeing Ella and Kasia---and those shots of Kasia 'doing' Ella's hair are priceless. Of course, I also like seeing Scarlett get squashed!

Thanks for the updates and for checking the mail.

Love, Dad
