A Very Mimi's Thanksgiving

We missed Kasia, Kjell, Jace & Carrie this year for Thanksgiving/Dan's birthday. :( But it was nice to go out this year and take a break from cooking. Really though we can't complain one bit, we got the best of both worlds: Mimi's on the "official" holiday and a homemade feast with Dan's family a couple of days after. Alas, we forgot our camera at the Hughes' Thanksgiving dinner (doh!), but here's some from Mimi's.

Dan was a good sport about sharing his birthday with the rest of the U.S., but since pumpkin pie happens to be his favorite dessert I think he fared out pretty well. Ella and I spent all of Wednesday making pumpkin and apple pies and pie cookies, decorating the house with balloons and posters and surprised him with dinner at Smash Burger (Dan's a sucker for burgers) and tickets to the Carl Bloch exhibit at BYU. Happy Birthday, Daniel--WE LOVE YOU!

P.S. We also got to see Tangled on Thanksgiving--the best Disney movie we've seen in ages! The artwork is stunning.
