Favorite Things

Speaking of kids and the cute things they do... Right now I am typing on my ledge where I can see Christopher clawing and knocking on the front door yelling out for Ella. She spent the night at my parent's last night and he is just itching to see her.

Some other cute things about Christopher

  • His favorite words are: Ella, Ball, Jesus and Yeah.
  • He knows where the pictures of Jesus are and he'll take me by the hand and lead me to them and say, "Jesus, Jesus." He then points upwards so that I'll pick him up so he can see Jesus, and when he does, he'll laugh and say, "Jesus." It's so precious.
  • He loves to say prayers and will fold his arms to ask you to say a prayer with him. Somedays we've had up to 40 prayers.
  • He's finally really learning to walk. He's been able to walk for a few months now, but up until now has preferred to crawl.

Some cute things about Ella

  • She won 2nd place in her art contest at school.
  • More importantly though, she is a kind and good person. She befriends those who are ostracized at school. In fact, I found a note from one of her friends' (one that Ella always asks to be her partner for school projects because she is usually forgotten or ignored) that said "Thank you for your note. You are awesome. Yours was the only note that I've ever gotten.
  • I also found out from a friend that she had put a sweet note in her son's bucket at school (they're doing buckets like from the Bucket Book) and that Ella's was 1 of 2 notes he had received total. I'm so proud of her.
  • Ella is patient and loving with her younger cousins. Sometimes I can't believe how much so. She is amazing.
  • She's learning to play a Christmas song on the organ for her dad's Christmas gift.
  • When I asked her what she wants for Christmas she replied, "I'm not really sure. I have everything I want."
I am a blessed woman.
